Two F-16's from Wildcat squadron break after downing a MiG-29. This image is an homage to the 1993 computer game "Strike Commander".

Original meshes by Marv Mays of Meshfactory, reskinned/retextured by myself with additional minor changes to geometry. Rendered in Cinema 4d R11 with postwork in Aftereffects and Photoshop.

UPDATE: For all of those wondering, the background IS an actual photo. Its a stock photo that I think I got from Stock exchange (SXC.hu).

This was rendered using Advanced Render 3, with Quasi-Monte Carlo Global Illumination, and a physical sky/sun.

A very cool dogfight sequence with nice scaling and atmosphere! Great looking models and effects and the perspective and lighting polishes it off nicely! Excellent piece and congratulations on the DD! :D

The scene looks great, but I have a tiny nitpick. For greater realism, you ought to think about with what weapon did the Falcons shoot down the MIG? As in the scene they still got all of their air to air missiles on pylons (disregard the launching one, that also did not shoot down the MIG). They might have used the gun, but that is more of a last resort weapon when there is no other option left. Unlikely with all missiles still there.
But still a great scene and a deserved DD.
